Hendry Zinfandel Block 28 2005 One of the hallmarks of Block 28 is its dark, concentrated fruit. The natural complexity and concentration of Block 28 fruit is the reason it receives 15% more new oak barrels than the Block 7 Zinfandel bottling. Primary aromas are deep and full of berries and black currants, with intriguing notes of licorice, smoke, earth and spice. The wine is full-bodied and mouth-filling, with a long finish. Fine-grained tannins provide significant structure, making this an ideal wine with richer, meatier dishes, even barbecue. (And George’s favorite wine with artichokes!)
